Privacy Notice

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

• Login email, used for email verification-code login
• Nickname and avatar
• Optional contact details: WeChat ID or contact email
• Your saves and Buddy activity

Information produced automatically:

• Basic usage and device information, used to operate the product and troubleshoot problems
• Approximate location only when you tap locate; see section 5

We do not collect information unrelated to providing the service, and we do not ask for your legal name, identity documents, or similar information.

2. How we use this information

• Send login verification codes to your email
• Keep your saved activities so you can return to them
• Connect you with another person when both of you want to attend the same event and both opt in
• Understand how the product is used so we can improve it

We do not use your information for unrelated purposes, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Who can see contact details (important)

Your WeChat ID and contact email are private by default.

Contact details are visible only when both people joined Buddy for the same event, the owner enabled contact sharing, and the event has not ended.

1. You and the other person both joined Buddy for the same event.
2. You enabled Share contact details in My.
3. The event has not ended.

Events that end or are cancelled automatically hide contact details.

This happens even if you did not turn sharing off yourself. You can also turn sharing off at any time in My.

4. Saves show counts only

Saves expose counts only. Your saves are a private list. On Discover, event details, and cards, other people can see only the number of people interested, never the avatars or nicknames of people who saved the event.

5. Location information

Location is requested only after the user taps locate. We do not request location permission by default. If you deny permission, the map and browsing still work. We use only an approximate location to move the map nearby and do not continuously track you.

6. Third-party services we use

• Maps: MapTiler provides the base map.
• Accounts, data, and image storage: Supabase provides these services, and data is stored on servers in the United States.
• We do not provide in-app chat or direct messages. After a connection is made, both people contact each other using the contact details they chose to share.

These providers process necessary technical data under their own privacy policies.

7. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase's U.S. region. Database row-level permissions default to denying access: no one can read data unless a rule explicitly allows it. The web app uses only a public anonymous key, and privacy decisions are enforced on the server. No system can guarantee 100% security, so please also protect access to your account email.

8. Use by young people

If you are under 18, we recommend using BosGoGo with a parent or guardian's knowledge, especially before sharing contact details or meeting someone offline.

When meeting offline, prioritize safety: choose a busy public place during the day, tell family or friends your plans, and bring someone with you when needed. You can always choose not to share contact details or meet offline.

9. Your rights and deleting data

• You can unsave activities, turn off Share contact details, and edit or clear your nickname, avatar, and contact details at any time.
• To delete all account data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request as soon as possible.

10. Updates to this notice

The product is still growing, so this notice may change. For important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use means you understand the latest notice.
